Purposeful has a few different aspects to its meaning:
Having a goal or aim: Something purposeful is done deliberately to achieve a specific outcome. It's the opposite of accidental or random. For example, "She went to college with a purposeful drive to become a doctor."
Showing determination: Purposeful can also describe someone who is resolute and firm in their intention to achieve something. Their actions and demeanor reflect their clear focus. For instance, "He had a purposeful stride as he walked towards the job interview."
Having meaning or significance: In this sense, purposeful describes something that is not frivolous or pointless. It has value and contributes to a larger objective. An example could be, "They volunteered at the animal shelter, finding purposeful work that helped animals in need."
